Overview

Section Head: Cory Bernadt, MD, PhD

The Cytopathology section provides consultation for difficult and complicated cytology cases at major medical centers including Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH), Saint Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH), Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWCH), and Memorial Hospitals Belleville and Shiloh. Pathologists carry out rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using telepathology in fine-needle aspiration (FNA) procedures in radiology, pulmonology, gastrointestinal (GI), and the operating rooms. The team also performs on-demand, palpable FNAs.

Highlights

The Cytopathology section includes four board-certified pathologists with interdisciplinary expertise. Section Head Dr. Cory Bernadt is trained in Cardiothoracic Pathology; Dr. Hannah Krigman is trained in Gynecologic Pathology and leads that section; Dr. Cody Weimholt is trained in Genitourinary Pathology and is AP Medical Director at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital and Memorial Hospitals; and Dr. Brenndan Crumley is trained in Breast and Gynecologic Pathology.
